Model Monday
Two and five minute sketches aren't worthy of a page all their own so I usually group them onto one. Who knew that such a little jem would appear on the page. The pose was so unusual—great angles, tons of foreshortening—that I was wanting another five or ten minutes with it. And although I never figured out the feet or fleshed out the hands, I think its pretty successful. Colored pencil.
This past week we had a male model. Proportion is my weak point. I've been working hard to overcome it and I think I nailed it on this one. It was a twenty minute pose which gave me just enough time to correct the proportions and block in the lights and darks. I used a yellow ochre watercolor pencil to start and added darks with the burnt sienna pencil.
